Chase Merchant Services is the global payment processing business for JPMorgan Chase & Co.   Merchant Services is the world’s leading merchant acquirer with over $1 trillion in annual transaction volume in 2016. ChaseNet is a customized closed-loop proprietary payments platform, and Chase Pay is the firm’s new digital wallet that makes mobile transactions simple, safe and rewarding.  Merchant Services is a leading provider of payment, fraud and data security for companies large and small and capable of authorizing transactions in more than 130 currencies.

The Business Development Executive is an outside, business to business sales role. The primary responsibility is developing new business opportunities within the Commercial Bank, Corporate Client Bank sales channel.  He/she will develop market strategies to drive payment processing revenue to J.P. Morgan Merchant Services and the Corporate Client Bank. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for end-to-end negotiation of new agreements with clients as well as coordinating the firm’s resources to bring those agreements to fruition.  A strong history of building internal and external strategic selling networks will be vital to your success. You must be an expert at all aspects of direct selling including developing national / industry relationships within the marketplace and representing the JPMC brand globally.
Successful candidates understand technology and high growth digital commerce client needs. They have the experience and proven track record of creatively solving their business objectives by delivering the appropriate products and services.  Finally, the candidate will liaise with internal partners (e.g.  CCB Banking, Treasury Services, and Card Services) and leverage an existing book of external influencers (Consultants, Venture Capital firms, VAR partners, etc.) to identify new client opportunities. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and self-sources client opportunities.
  • Manage a specified sales market/vertical, cultivate and manage pipeline opportunities. 
  • Builds collaborative internal relationships to develop and foster partnerships.  Actively participates in partners meetings and communicates messages timely and accurately.
  • Serves as payment expert, leveraging core knowledge, to recommend and promote banking and payment processing solutions to clients while working within the risks parameters that protect the firm.
  • Understands client's banking needs and presents product solutions offering to best accommodate the client. 
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership, follow-up and project management skills.
  • Lead/execute special projects and assignments as required.
  • Focus on exceeding profitability and aggressive sales objectives.
  • Represent the firm as a subject matter expert internally and externally.
  • Aligns daily activities to accomplish strategic business objectives.
  • Protects the firm by applying sound risk management protocols; Is knowledgeable of compliance and risk issues to escalate to management as appropriate; will collaborate to determine solutions. 
  • Understands multiple verticals and how to position the appropriate solutions.
  • Will execute sales strategy in alignment with corporate and LOB priorities.
  • Create a detail financial analysis and effectively deliver an in depth financial ROI to C-Level Executives.
  • Daily use of CRM, Salesforce to manage activity, pipeline, forecast, and execute against business initiatives. 
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • College degree required.
  • Generally at least 5 years of B2B (business to business) sales experience with a proven track record of self-sourcing leads and network both internally and externally that results in meeting revenue goals in a solution selling environment.
  • Sense of urgency for goal achievement, strong commitment to driving sales results.
  • High sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with multiple levels of the organization (internally and externally) - This includes senior-level presentation skills.
