JPMAM Alternatives is expanding its private credit offering through the creation of a new Global Special Situations (GSS) business with a closed end Lux fund structure holding US and EEA corporate loans as well as other instruments. This role is for the fund accountant for that business.
Role summary: The fund accountant will be primarily responsible for all the aspects of the day-to-day fund accounting, regulatory reporting and control processes. They will work closely with the COO, Head of Operations and external providers.
Requirement: The ideal candidate will have strong academics with formal accounting qualifications and previous experience of at least 3 – 7 years in a selection of credit markets, loans, closed funds, hedge funds and alternatives. These should be highlighted in a covering letter which will be used to select candidates for interview.
Reporting to: Kayne Manning
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:
Prepare timely and accurate Net Assets Values (NAV), financial statements (income and expense accruals), commitments and other fund accounting output for subsequent review
Reconcile and oversee the work of the fund administrators and ensure that the reporting to institutional investors is completed in an accurate and timely manner
Reconcile daily and/or monthly to ensure that the funds books and records and accruals match with the fund administrator and resolve any discrepancies
Preparation of performance files
Establish and manage efficient and effective processes, including but not limited pnl, risk, fund accounting, investor reporting and cash/asset management
Lead the completion of the Annual Financial Statements and audit
Lead regulatory reporting across all relevant jurisdictions
Lead tax related analysis and associated work
Support fund board meetings and governance
Complete the Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) for GSS as well as lead control related processes, reporting and audit
Identify and adhere to relevant global regulatory and JPMorgan policy requirements
Write reports periodically to management on fund activities and other related issues
Work in partnership with the investment and analysis team to produce portfolio management information
Conduct other tasks as requested by the COO and Head of Operations in the effective running of the business and future growth initiatives.
