Job Description:
The APAC Head of Talent Management and Diversity and Learning and Development (L&D) will have oversight for the development and execution of key strategic talent and development interventions through strong leadership and guidance of the team as well as close partnership with key business heads, business aligned talent, diversity and L&D teams, Leadership Edge leads and HR regional leaders.
The position will be based in Hong Kong and will report regionally to the APAC Head of Human Resources as well as to the Global Head of Talent Management and Diversity, and the Global Co Heads of Learning. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders globally and regionally to build and drive talent strategies that align to business and market challenges impacting the region.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the broader Learning and Development community across the region, including GSC L&D Teams, LOB aligned L&D teams, Analyst and Associate Program managers and Leadership Edge team through holding regular team meetings, town halls etc. where information and best practices are shared.
  • Engage, involve and influence through thought leadership the APAC Management Team on the multi year regional talent roadmap.
  • Performance Management: partner with the firmwide Performance Development team to drive the implementation of MyDevelopment and Insight360 across the region. In 2018 this will extend to implementing the new rating system and overseeing the associated change management initiatives
  • Partner with the firmwide Diversity team, deliver a diversity and inclusion development agenda which reflects the firm’s level of commitment. Specific areas of focus will be identifying top talent through the annual talent process, delivering firmwide initiatives such as NLI and providing appropriate levels of ongoing support to individuals
  • Drive performance and talent management strategies across the different lines of business by partnering with the senior HRBPs, L&D leads and the global talent management and diversity team on topics such as succession planning, leadership development, career progression as well as developing and nurturing local talent.
  • As the regional ambassador for Leadership Edge, drive engagement with all people leaders across the region.
  • Diagnose key Organisation Development (OD) related issues through the analysis of data,  design of strategies, implementation of solutions and measurement of success.
  • Oversee executive assessments to maintain richness of feedback.  Work with external consultants and the leadership edge team and talent management and diversity teams to refine tools and processes to improve effectiveness and user experience.
  • Provide strategic direction and management for the diversity and inclusion agenda across the region, including oversight and governance of the regional business resource groups.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching interventions with selected talent.
  • Identify learning and development requirements by conducting needs analysis on organisation results, job requirements, operational problems, company plans and forecasts, and current training programs.
  • Have accountability for L&D logistics in the region to ensure that program execution and delivery is cost efficient and effective.
  • Maintain current industry information, including new thinking and new approaches and communicate to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Represent the region on global forums such as the Learning Leadership Council, Talent Management and Diversity Team and Leadership Edge Forum.
  • Promote strong risk and control mindset across the function, ensuring appropriate practices are in place to manage vendors and to respond to regulatory requests as required.


  • Minimum 10 years experience in managing a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to lead, drive, motivate and structure a multi functional team, consisting of experienced learning and development managers and talent and diversity employees
  • Proven talent management, leadership development and design experience
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex situations and multiple priorities with a dedication to a high level of client service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and influencing skills and the ability to establish strong relationships with LOB Executives, HR Business Partners and various HR teams
  • Proven ability to drive programs and to meet deliverables in a complex, geographically dispersed region
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to create a strong risk, control and conduct mindset across a matrixed functional team
  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships
  • A strong commitment to diversity and shared values by being a role model for others
  • Proven skill set in executive coaching
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • 15 + years in overall HR experience with a strong background in talent and development, change management and diversity and inclusion
  • Masters degree in Human Resources Development or Psychology or equivalent
