Our line of business (Consumer, Business Banking and Auto) provides technology support for applications across all lines of business (Auto/Education, Business Banking, Card Services, Centralized Transactions Operations, Commercial Banking, Consumer Bank, Consumer Internet Group, Credit Risk, Finance, Home Lending, Investment Bank, Treasury & Securities Services, and Wealth Management) and manages channel specific applications for ATM and Teller.

The CBBA Data Architecture team has overall ownership and responsibility for all Enterprise Systems data, in addition to dedicated line of business application data. This includes all aspects of Information Architecture, Data Governance and Integration as well as Data Quality. The organization is committed to developing and enforcing a disciplined data growth in the areas of Master Data Management for Party, Product and Arrangement.
In this organization you will be focused on Data Analysis, more specifically understanding the quality of the operational data and developing strategies for improving it when necessary. You will be required to recognize abstract patterns and relationships between apparently unrelated entities and situations in order to design practical solutions.
In this role you will:
  • Collaborate with business and IT analysts to document critical data flows / business processes that lead to the input / output of data in the systems they monitor
  • Collaborate to extend company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems for anomaly detection in operational processes
  • Evaluate current quality control processes and make recommendations for process improvements
  • You will focus primarily on backend systems, with data and analytics, and works hand-in-hand with the broader customer and partner facing teams that design the digital customer experience
  • Perform explanatory data analyses, generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyze historical data and identify patterns
  • Analyze and model structured data using advanced statistical methods and implement algorithms and software needed to perform analyses
  • You’ll gather business problems and data from various stakeholders and deliver machine-learning based solutions
  • Project outcomes and isolate issues that need to be resolved to make programs more effective in a large variety of data domains
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of management and with customers
  • Experience in the development of financial applications is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as Cassandra
  • Strong mathematical background (probability and statistics or computer science)
  • Understanding of Deep Learning concepts
  • Experience with machine learning tools preferred
  • Experience with data extraction and processing
  • Basic understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc
  • Experience with command-line scripting and processing large amounts of data in a cloud environment
  • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: machine learning, data visualization, statistical modeling, data mining, or information retrieval
  • Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java/Python an asset
  • Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
