Client Onboarding:

The LATAM Onboarding Team forms part of the wider Client Onboarding team, with a particular focus on ensuring adherence to regulatory Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) requirements for the LATAM market. The Team Manager is responsible to ensure key priorities are actioned, which includes the review of client documentation at account opening, the maintenance of data in a variety of systems, regular review of existing client files (KYC Periodic Review) and processing of any ad hoc changes requested by our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide the team with the priorities for account openings, account maintenance and Periodic Reviews in accordance with the Business requirement and in agreement with the Process Leaders.
  • Create and maintain a Management pack to deliver the Business with transparent stats and metrics
  • Maintaining consistency for the LATAM market and its OnBoarding team regarding documents review and account opening processes
  • Keep the defect rate to the minimum and have clear action actions plan for repetitive issue.
  • Advise the business on a wide range of documents issues relevant to discretionary investment, asset allocation and due diligence
  • Support the business on new product development and launches
  • Provide insight on product distribution to clients
  • Advise on legal issues for the managed account platform
  • Work closely with other members of the legal department, and other control functions (e.g., Compliance, Risk) to identify and resolve issues impacting the Investment Solutions business.
  • Coordinate as needed with other divisions of the Private Bank
  • Representing the LATAM OnBoarding team on regional market meetings and other JPMS forums
  • Reviewing client account opening documentation to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Direct communication with clients in the account opening phase in order to obtain information and documentation in an efficient manner – avoiding getting back to the client inappropriately
  • Review and processing of most client-signed documentation throughout the life of an account.
  • Managing a core team of 16 OnBoarding Officers
  • Prioritise and act a decision-maker for the team
  • Promoting the value of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with the Firm’s Values and Strategy
  • Coordinating with Market Managers and Market BMs to ensure that bankers comply with regulatory and policy obligations
  • Training of OnBoarding Officers, Front Office
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex cases
  • Ensuring the right level of training for all team members in a consistent structure
  • Providing guidance and support to Market Managers, Market COOs and Bankers
  • Support Risk Management requirements, ensuring risks are managed effectively within the team

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or Law preferred
  • Experience in managing a sizeable team and delivering at pace in a pressured environment
  • Deep knowledge of the different structures open within the Wealth Management industry
  • Sound understanding of KYC/AML fields
  • Experience in implementing AML and KYC rules preferred
  • Project Management skills a definite plus
  • Drives results through leadership, people, communication and influence

  • Fluency in English mandatory / fluency in other European languages would also be an advantage
