Overview:
The Treasury and the Chief Investment Office (TCIO) within JPMorgan manages the balance sheet of one of the world’s largest global financial institutions with more than $2.5 trillion in assets and liabilities, including more than $800 billion in loans and $1.3 trillion in deposits. Because it sits at the very center of the firm, TCIO directly influences the composition of the firm’s balance sheet as well the activities of the firm’s four main lines of business (LOBs): Asset & Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Bank, and Consumer & Community Banking.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Deploying the firm’s excess liquidity
  • Managing the firm’s funding and liabilities
  • Aggregating and managing the structural interest rate and foreign exchange risk of JPMorgan’s main businesses
  • Managing the firm’s liquidity risk and its regulatory compliance

The Treasury/CIO Chief Data Office (CDO) implements firmwide data management standards and focuses on aligning T/CIO's data strategy to critical business initiatives, improving data capabilities and managing data compliance. The mission of the group is to provide a data strategy which will allow for better client service, more efficient and effective risk management, as well as operational & technological efficiencies. Our clients are primarily T/CIO Risk, Finance, Strategy and Operations teams. The team runs the process for process for identifying and resolving data quality issues within T/CIO, across both trade execution and risk aggregation platforms (liquidity risk, structural interest rate risk).

Responsibilities:
The analyst in the T/CIO Chief Data Office will be responsible for assisting with the following:
  • Identifying and recommending solutions to reduce manual processes and enhance analytical capabilities
  • Working with stakeholders to prioritize data opportunities and partner with technology to implement solutions
  • Resolving data quality issues impacting risk stakeholders: identify root causes, determine appropriate remediation owner, obtain commitment and track to closure
  • Partnering with product SMEs on the team to understand their data adjustments
  • Work with stakeholders to define strategic data sourcing requirements arising from evolving regulations and new business initiatives

  • Process orientation: ability to analyze a problem holistically and evaluate solutions considering all upstream and downstream impacts
  • Ability to break down complex problems into components, identify root causes, and establish resolution plans
  • Project management skills
  • Passionate about driving change and improving processes
  • Quick learner with the ability to map out business processes and leverage technology to drive process improvements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products: Word, Excel (and formulas), PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio.
  • Knowledge of banking and/or trading products is a plus.
