The Business Development Manager Senior is a field management position responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in an assigned region. The primary responsibility is leading and coaching a team of Business Development Rep II within the Business Bank Channel.  He/she will develop market strategies to drive incremental payment processing revenue to Chase Merchant Services and the upper levels of the Business Bank. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for strategizing with their team and partners to increase product penetration within assigned region. They will help to negotiate contracts and manage team performance and profitability.  Successful candidates will understand technology and high growth digital commerce client needs. They must possess the experience and proven track record of managing high performing teams in the banking and or merchant processing world.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Execute a business plan and sales strategy for the region that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for the overall performance and development of a team of Business Development Rep II located throughout market in Business Bank hubs.
  • Builds collaborative internal relationships to develop and foster partnerships.  Actively participates in partners meetings and communicates messages timely and accurately.
  • Serves as trusted advisor, leveraging core knowledge, to recommend and promote banking and payment processing solutions to clients while working within the risks parameters that protect the firm.
  • Analyze sale data, prepare and deliver sales reporting to senior management and partners.
  • Aligns daily activities of staff to accomplish strategic business objectives.
  • Possesses deep knowledge of company's products and pricing to facilitate efforts. 
  • Protects the firm by applying sound risk management protocols; is knowledgeable of compliance and risk issues to escalate to management as appropriate; will collaborate to determine solutions.
  • May travel up to 50%
  • Ability to execute client strategy in alignment with corporate and LOB priorities.
  • Proven leadership and ability to mentor team members.
  • Strong decision making ability and proven record of ability to escalate decisions regarding project, direction and scope to leadership team.
  • Prior experience in multi faced consultative process where contact was with C level employees.
  • Will travel to client and partner as needed.  High quality, high touches contact. 
  • College degree required. 
  • Generally at least 5 years of B2B (business to business) Management experience with a proven track record of leading revenue based sales teams in a consultative / solution selling environment.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
