The J.P. Morgan Advice Lab is an integral part of Wealth Management and is dedicated to developing leading-edge, world class intellectual capital and analytical tools to address unique client challenges for various client segments. Our advice is created and delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of specialists who develop wealth planning strategies, research, tools, and publications. The team currently focuses on Corporate Executive Advisory, Private Business Advisory, Tax Advisory, Estate Disposition Advisory, and Quantitative Research.

 
Primary Function

The Managing Director will be responsible for building a Family Advisory practice and help WM generate new business and provide strategic advice to global families and clients / prospects on topics related to family office, family governance, and family succession. Specifically, they will be required to:

  • Provide advice to global families across three pillars:
    • Family Office: Creation, structure and governance
    • Family Governance: Identifying family unit and structure, establishing/memorializing family values and goals and how to achieve those goals
    • Family Succession: Education across generations on family leadership and/or business succession, passing on family legacy
  • Deliver advice through direct advisory and creation of thought leadership content
  • Review and propose family office / family governance structures
  • Provide analysis and updates on global and local trends and industry intelligence across the three pillars
  • Work with internal partners on delivery of advice across written content, digital content, events, and direct client engagement

  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 15+ years work experience with Private Clients and/or Family Offices around the world
  • Experience advising families on governance / succession and/or advising or heading a family office
  • Must convey knowledge and credibility in front of internal partners, clients, and prospective clients
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel within region and internationally as needed
  • Ability to gather information through good listening and questioning skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Ideal candidate should also have a global strong network in Family Governance, Family Succession and/or Family Offices
