The Team

Markets Technology provides end to end technology solutions for the firm's Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Risk Management business areas.
This is an opportunity to join an award winning technology team delivering a very high profile program across the front to back technology stack for Equity Derivatives, Equities Cash & Prime Brokerage – covering the full product lifecycle from order management & execution through to trade booking, settlements, accounting & confirmations.

The Role

Equities Front-to-Back Technology Lead for JPMorgan European Legal Entity Strategy
Delivering high-quality and timely solutions on the front to back platform requires strong business analysis, product knowledge, technical and problem solving skills. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in financial markets and be a subject matter expert in equity derivatives & equity cash product, together with having a proven track record in working on complex technology projects.

This specific role will be tasked with joining an a delivery team whereby critical deliveries need to be made to adapt to the complex landscape.
The successful candidate will work within the Equities Technology E2E Projects team as a hands-on BA/product expert, who will leverage their knowledge to drive the implementation of JPMorgan’s legal entity strategy. You will be a hands-on business analyst, SME with a proven track record of working of large-scale technical solutions within the investment banking space.

Trade processing expertise, will need to be supplemented with an in-depth understanding of products & order management & execution flows. You will need to have an informed view on the current and future regulatory landscape and how it will impact trading, operations and legal entity set-up.

The ability to bridge the gap between business and technology is paramount in this role, to drive the business forward in their objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Overall technology lead for the front to back technology delivery to support JPMorgan’s European legal entity strategy
  • Project management & oversight of the deliverables of 45+  technology resources distributed across many different technology teams across the front to back application stack.
  • Business analyst working closely with legal, compliance, finance & business management, middle office & operations to define E2E booking models & trade flows – with particular focus on Cash Equities
  • Partnering with multiple technology leads globally to deliver an E2E solution.
  • Gather business requirements, perform detailed analysis, and produce associated functional specifications across multiple functions.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management in technology, middle office & front office
  • Participation in large-scale “highly-visible” SIT/UAT testing cycles managing technology and business stakeholders
  • Training of relevant teams prior to go-live of new business processes/products, functionality or applications
  • Produce implementation approach, timelines, go-live strategy.
  • Go-live support, investigation of issues.

 

 

 
 


Essential skills
  • Strong background of understanding end to end lifecycle of financial products (Equity derivatives , Cash Equities or other derivatives) including: order management & execution, risk management, trade capture, confirmations, legal entity flows, accounting and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to clearly define and articulate business requirements.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Confidence in communicating internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with front office, middle office and technology teams on a daily basis who are both business and technically sophisticated
  • Ability to coherently construct and present business requirements and solution based on input from various sources
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience and/or willing to be involved in the technical detail of projects and systems (Sybase, Java, Python, XML, FIX) both in terms of analysis, modelling and problem solving. Hands-on technical ability will be a key differentiator
  • Proactive, self-motivated and flexible with a positive attitude
  • Strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high-level standard
  • Experience of a project life-cycle, including breaking requirements down into technical deliverables and estimating the work required
  • Experience in working with technology development teams during build and implementation phases of requirements
  • Experience in writing UAT Test Plans and/or Test Scripts, together with managing the user testing phase of projects

Desirable skills
  • Understanding /experience of challenges facing investment banking in emerging markets
  • P&L and risk management understanding an advantage
  • Hands-on technical skills
