Job Description:

Trust & Estate (T&E) Tax within Wealth Management supports the T&E practice in coordination with the tax return preparation that has been outsourced to external preparers.  This position would have oversight of the tax return filings prepared by external preparers and act as the liaison between the T&E practice and the external tax preparers.  This position would also collaborate with the T&E Tax Technical Lead to execute team objectives.   This position partner would partner with Operations and Technology to collaborate on tax data transmission into OneSource Trust Tax and/or other databases to facilitate quicker and higher quality trust/estate tax information..  This position also works with external tax preparers to ensure process integrity and proper discipline around data transfer, communication, procedures and regulatory requirements. 
  • Manage team and partner with T&E Tax Technical Lead and external tax preparers to ensure tax reporting requirements for trust and estate tax returns are met including written policies and procedures
  • Partner with internal and external colleagues to identify and implement projects/procedures to meet new reporting requirements
  • Timely and concise communication with key business partners and senior management
  • Diagnose, communicate and facilitate resolution of key issues and risks
  • Ensure operational and business change readiness with proper discipline around client data and regulatory requirements
  • Escalation and resolution of tax return-related issues arising across T&E practice
  • Intermediary between T&E practice and external preparers for resolution of tax-related issues
  • Manage a team of operational tax professionals providing mentorship and career development
  • 10+ years experience in Operations either in the financial services industry or other professional organization.  Advanced degree or other designation preferred (MST,CPA)
  • Solid working knowledge of fiduciary and estate tax rules and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work in collaborative environment with strong organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Experience managing professionals in a business environment
  • Client focused with tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including excel and powerpoint
  • Familiarity with OneSource tax software a plus
