Job Description:

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

 

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages Python or Java Programming
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Suitable candidate will participate in project planning sessions with project leads, business users and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution.
  • The candidate will also participate in standard SDLC process using Agile methodology and Test Driven approach. The candidate will adhere to IT Control Policies through design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
  •  Additionally, responsibility will include documentation of deliverables. The candidate will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation
  • Manage client expectations with regard to projects and work with the client to turn ideas into future business opportunities
  • Provide project management oversight, specifically manage the project schedules and release plans, provide status updates to all the team members and upper management, assess, manage, and report risks, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead and direct all members of the release delivery team to achieve project and product objectives
  • Ability to develop release plans, accounting for product owner’s prioritization of the backlog, team’s velocity and customer deliverables and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with the product owner and the product team to manage a continuous product backlog grooming process
  • Perform organization wide integration planning and provide interface to other functional systems within the project, program, and/or organization
  • Develop and implement project and product management processes within the team.
  • Responsible for setting up the project from the ground up, as well as advocating for the best engineering practices and tools for effective use.
  • Contributes to the presales activities including estimations, architecture reviews, and documentation.
  • Contribute best practices & processes as well as delivery management knowledge base to the company.
  • Responsible for successful project delivery, proactively supervising technical delivery teams both onshore and offshore.
  • Governing the delivery across stakeholders, handling complicated engineering issues, making sure the design, code and overall solution is of top-notch quality. Is completely responsible for the overall customer experience in terms of delivery.
  • Responsible for developing and executing the succession plan of the projects on their account

Qualifications:

3+ years of software development experience in Java and J2EE related technologies

  • Must be a strong problem solver with passion for building technology solutions
  • Experience with WebLogic and JMS is a must
  • Ability to develop SOA, and across multiple tiers (presentation, business, and database)
  • Experience with Spring Framework, Drools, BPM, REST WS, Hibernate, JSON, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, HTML, CSS,Ext JS and XML is desired
  • Working experience in Agile, Lean Dev methodologies and test driven development
  • Experience in navigating, editing files, and executing commands in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Experience with debugging, profiling and performance tuning web, client and batch applications
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns and their application
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and a dynamic environment
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets and devOps tools
  • Strong database understanding preferably Oracle; including rich SQL and PL/SQL programming experience. Big Data technology is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
