The Australia Sales team is responsible for delivering investment solutions to target clients by effectively leveraging the full platform of JPM including research, strategy and products. The target client set includes distributors, platforms, dealer groups, industry and corporate superannuation funds, government agencies, and insurance groups.

 

Working as part of the Australia Sales team and in coordination with the Global Consulting Team, the Consultant Adviser will be responsible for managing consultant relationships and assisting with client coverage. The position could be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

 

Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for  obtaining, maintaining and leveraging buy rankings to drive new business opportunities.
  • Assuming responsibility for two local consultants and three research houses in close coordination with Australia Sales team.
  • Secondary responsibility for assisting Australia Sales team with Funds and Institutional clients.
  • Covering both research and field consultants, providing information and responding to queries.
  • Organising and hosting research meetings and responding to general queries.
  • Working with the Australia Sales team in respect to identifying, tracking and progressing new business opportunities.
  • Working with investment desks to tailor RFPs and presentations to the needs of the investment consultants.
  • Liaise with the database team to ensure all consultant databases are up-dated and all pre-pitch materials are provided in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating external communications with consultants.
  • Tracking the progress achieved with consultants by up-dating various in-house tools, such as Salesforce.
  • Work closely with the RFP team to complete and review RFPs.

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, with additional CFA, CAIA or similar post graduate qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience and success in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect and build new relationships at multiple levels within target organizations.
  • A thorough understanding of the Australian superannuation funds and investment consulting industries and the key players.
  • Demonstrated expertise in alternatives with broad knowledge of asset classes and investment types.
  • Strong communication, relationship management and presentation skills
  • Effective time management with particular focus on meeting deadlines
  • Sound technical skills - ability to learn about the business and existing product palette
  • Self-motivated, energetic and organized
