Full Stack JavaScript Software Engineer (Agile, DevOps, Cloud)
As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.
This Full Stack Software Engineer (JavaScript, Angular, SQL) role is part of a wider Dev/Ops agenda, and an SME is needed that can help cross-train other staff on development / coding tools. This is an important team role, not one of sole contributor.
The candidate must be prepared to work with other groups across JPMC, including other internal Dev/Ops and Agile development communities. The individual must also help determine and document the tools strategy with other peers, as well as document run-books for applications / tools. 
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • API focused tools development, using internal Cloud-based development environments.
  • Scripting / building tools using the following; JavaScript, NodeJS, SQL, Pentaho ETL, PowerShell, HTML, Cassandra, Apache Solr and S3.
  • Developing modern, clean user interfaces using AngularJS and HighchartsJS
  • Automating development workflows using Jenkins and Gulp.
  • Application assessments and direct involvement in helping determine tools strategies within DCS.
  • Training other team members in development tools / languages.
  • Collaboration with other Dev/Ops and Agile communities within Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) on approaches, and adherence to any coding standards and big rules.
  • Establishment / documentation of source code and configuration management standards.
  • Documentation of systems, processes, supporting hardware, user guides etc.
  • Assisting with management of the DCS data warehouse – ETL jobs / scripts, data feeds / data quality with peers in GRE / DCS, automation of global capacity reporting (in conjunction with DCS) and ad-hoc data gathering / management reports when needed
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
