A critical priority for Asset Management is to ensure that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our clients' needs. The Asset Wealth Management Chief Data Office (CDO) was established to define AWM's data strategy and support for the core data used across AWM and needed to run our business. The AWM CDO is positioned in the AWM Operations division, within AWM Center reporting to the AWM Chief Operational Officer (COO). We work with the AWM Business & Technology teams as well as the Firmwide CDO team to deliver robust platforms and effective operating models to ensure sound management of our data.
The AM Party & Account Product Owner will be responsible for the AM Party & Account System of Record, establishing a strategy and roadmap for the Party & Account core platform covering both strategic and BAU data initiatives as well as the adoption of that data by downstream consumers. Initiatives include efforts to establish adequate governance, controls and standards around data, establishing the platform as a  golden source of Party & Account data, managing data requirements, ensuring data consistency, lineage, data quality controls & data protection. The Product Owner will be responsible for managing a small group of Business/Data Analysts and Project Managers.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute on a roadmap for the Party & Account System of Record (SOR) in partnership with Business & Technology teams -  ensuring alignment to business priorities and data governance standards
  • Manage multi-year Book Of Work for the SOR including pipeline of demand, priorities, timeline, budget, resourcing and dependencies
  • Partner with Technology teams on managing functionality releases and the onboarding of downstream data consumers  
  • Develop effective and collaborative relationships across Asset Management and with key constituents (Client Service, Legal, Compliance, O&C, Risk & Finance, Operations, Bus Mgt)
  • Act as a change agent, leading and/or supporting the transformational data agenda
  • Utilize direct and indirect influencing skills to get buy-in on key decisions, solve priority conflicts and drive progress  
  • Lead a small team of project managers and business analysts:
    • Direct activities to ensure quality, timeliness of project completion and conformity with user requirements and client's needs (including operating models)
    • Effectively manage project scope/changes, function as escalation point for the team, ensure impact is communicated and approved by senior stakeholders
  • Establish data quality metrics and standards for Party & Account data mastered in the SOR
  • Lead and chair a number of governance forums to provide appropriate controls, communication and transparency of the Party & Account SOR agenda
  • Work closely with other CDO teams (AWM & Firmwide) in aligning and leveraging data agendas
  • Pro-actively identify, prioritize and solve for Party & Account SOR data quality issues  
  • 10+ years of experience in a major financial services organization, or consulting practice with specific client data related experience
  • 5-10 years managing teams of business analysts and/or project managers, developing, coaching and hiring talent
  • Extensive experience managing a portfolio of projects, or large scale programs with a high amount of complexity and customer interface
  • Proven experience managing initiatives across multiple teams, geographically and functionally distributed
  • Working knowledge and understanding of data modelling
  • Self-motivated individual with strong work ethic  
  • Formal project management training and discipline required
  • Understanding of technologies, systems, drivers and trends
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead meetings and steer discussions
  • Exceptional ability to problem-solve
  • Good understanding of the Asset Management business
  • Awareness of data-related industry regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Awareness of data management practices, business and technology issues related to the management of information assets and data quality
