Investor Services Finance & Business Management is seeking Vice President level Business Manager based in New York for Fixed Income Financing ("FIF") business. 


Fixed Income Financing has a global product offering including sovereign, corporate, MBS, emerging markets and structured financing. The business engages in client market making providing financing or collateral to a diverse client base including Banks, Broker/ Dealers, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, etc. It also performs critical internal functions including financing inventory and short coverage of internal Fixed Income desks, sourcing collateral for internal programs and assisting in compliance with firm-wide balance sheet and liquidity ratio management (e.g., LCR, Leverage, etc).


The Business Manager works across the organization to provide support to senior leadership, and is critical for driving strategic analysis, process improvement, financial analysis and controls. 


This is a regional role that sits within the CIB Investor Services F&BM organization under the leadership of Global FIF Business Manager.




Responsibilities for the FIF Business Manager role will focus primarily on the North America (“NA”) region and include:


Drive Growth and Strategy 

  • Ensure implementation of business strategies and help drive change
  • Communicate business strategy, performance and priorities (e.g. Town Halls, Offsites, Business Reviews, Investor Day)
  • Run governance forums
  • Track progress to ensure delivery
  • Escalate issues and roadblocks
  • Provide analytics for business decisions

Optimize North America Business Performance 

  • Coordinate NA portion of the annual Plan / Budget process
  • Drive regular expense reviews to ensure targets are met
  • Assist in investment / productivity initiatives (headcount, technology spend, etc)
  • Ensure compliance with expense policies
  • Oversee occupancy and people moves

Manage Business Risks

  • Assist with regulatory reform issues that impact the business
  • Identify, assess and mitigate business risks that could impair the ability to do business:
    • NBIA (New Business Initiatives)
    • CSA (Control Self Assessment)
    • Resiliency planning
    • Audit and Regulatory reviews

  • 5-7 years work experience in financial services/ Financing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related required
  • Business Management / COO experience strongly preferred
  • Fixed Income or Financing background and knowledge strongly preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Good judgment, maturity and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management
  • Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Self starter able to prioritize key tasks effectively
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls
  • Energetic, self motivated and effective under pressure - must enjoy the challenge of working within a fast-paced and demanding working environment
