Job Description:
Technology Controls (TC) delivers streamlined and consistent solutions supporting JPMorgan Chase’s Controls and IT Risk agendas with a focus on risk reduction, stability, security, delivery, resiliency and efficiencies. TC’s focus on standardization, consistency and simplicity fosters long-term productivity, quality and innovation across JPMorgan Chase. The disciplines within this organization are Oversight & Controls Technology, Cloud Controls, Identity & Access Management, IT Risk & Controls, and Third Party Risk Management.

The Database Developer will create and maintain source code that translates business requirements into custom business solutions.  Plans, builds, tests and implements source code and solutions.  Assists with problem analysis, reports findings, and recommends solutions.  Will work with Operations Team to deploy software solutions for use by internal and external customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Partners and influences Application Developers peers
    • Work within established SDLC
    • Collaborate on System Architecture with peers
    • Partner with Business Analysts, Project and Product Managers to meet business requirements
    • Understand/apply reusable code design to leverage application architecture and framework capabilities
    • Design and develop solutions that are highly reliable, scalable, and perform to meet business-defined service levels
    • Ensure timely delivery across System Development Lifecycle
    • Identify and implement improvements to Development processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and shorten delivery timelines
    • Coordinate with Admins on the design and architecture for our team's deliverables.
    • Interface with Business users as necessary for defining requirements and streamlining design.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.
    • Build technology solutions using agile methodologies to satisfy complex business needs.
    • Ensure that all solutions are aligned to architectural standards and security policies.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience within MIS, Business Intelligence, &/or Analytics roles; must have expert-level, demonstrated knowledge of one or more data & business intelligence concepts including ETL, Data Modeling, SQL Query Development & Reporting Automation.  Must have experience with Informatica and/or SSIS ETL tools.
  • Self-starter; demonstrate ability to complete assigned tasks independently with minimum supervision
  • Team player, excellent written & oral communications skills, project management & client partnership ability
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts & exposure to one or more Business Intelligence toolsets & database platforms
  • Ability to work well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise
  • Problem Solving: must possess strong analytical ability. Probing, judgment & problem analysis techniques. Should possess & demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the business unit’s functions & applications. Excellent knowledge of system technology alternatives
  • Demonstrate initiative / good judgment in decision making; taking appropriate actions on databases / products according to established standards & best practices with minimal assistance; communicates, collaborates, engages, escalates & educates stakeholders as appropriate
