The position is to be a key member of the GFCC Governance team and provides the opportunity to join a critical area in global Compliance management. The position will be based in New York and will report to the Head of GFCC Governance and Business Management.

 

As a member of the GFCC Governance team, you will assist the team lead with managing key priorities, reporting and project management to move the GFCC agenda forward. You will work in close partnerships with global partners and stakeholders in GFCC, as well as with key Corporate functions (Finance, HR, Real Estate, Audit, Resiliency, etc). The role presents an excellent opportunity to act as a deputy to the Head of GFCC Governance and Business Management, and interact with senior stakeholders to gain a detailed insight into the management of a global Compliance function for a global and complex corporate and investment bank.

 

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Produce MI that highlights key risks and opportunities for Global Head of GFCC and Management Team to effectively manage budget and headcount from a both managed and non-managed view perspective. Partner with Finance and GFCC Management Team to develop annual budgets 
  • Produce content for quarterly business reviews with the Chief Compliance Officer. 
  • Manage flow of escalations coming from GFCC sub-committees into the GFCOC and other senior management governance forums 
  • Act as a central point of contact for all governance related matters, facing off directly with Audit and Regulatory Management for relevant exams, audits and ad hoc requests 
  • Work closely with Finance and Recruiting to track attrition, approval of requisitions and analyze flow of new hires to manage headcount targets  Ownership of the People & Communications agenda for the GFCC Management team, including Town Halls, skip level meetings and connection into the Compliance-wide People Agenda 
  • Take independent ownership for specific initiatives and work streams that impact the department and drive programs to successful completion 
  • Collaborate and interact with other Business Managers (LOB, regions) and control functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Audit) and escalate issues as appropriate and required
  • 10+ years in a regulatory compliance environment
  • Bachelor degree required
  • A strong team player who enjoys taking on new challenges with mature relationship-building and influencing abilities to engage stakeholders from other functions 
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills required 
  • Strong written communications and ability to edit information accurately and succinctly for senior management; must be able to use PitchPro and create effective presentations in PowerPoint 
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, including situations where little incomplete information or pre-determined procedures do not exist 
  • Ability to assess complex organizational objectives, diagnose problems and prioritize efforts 
  • Knowledge and awareness of the compliance and regulatory landscape
