The online and mobile channels for Chase currently support more than 32 million active customers; 9 million customers interact with us daily, making Chase the most visited banking portal in the US.   Within Consumer and Community Banking, the Digital IT team is responsible for setting and executing strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation across Chase Online and Mobile, helping to establish the best Digital banking customer experience in the industry.
Payment Interface Ecosystem (PIE) is focused on transforming payment capabilities for customers and merchants while driving convergence and standardization across JPMC.  PIE encompasses multiple applications and platforms which support credit, debit and other platforms end-to-end from acquirer to issuer.   
As an Application Developer with the PIE team you will be instrumental in and responsible for developing high quality applications and solutions that address business needs by delivering new capabilities to customers and merchants across the Emerging Payments space.  This will include developing or enhancing transaction processing applications, including building and testing of heterogeneous interfaces across the ecosystem.  The ideal candidate will be proficient with payment systems and have experience with Visa, MasterCard, and other payment network interfaces.

The Android developer role involves working on Android mobile eCommerce and payments applications.  The successful candidate will collaborate and coordinate within the team and across teams that are also creating similar feature sets in other mobile platforms. The process requires iterative development to follow new business requirements and designs for consumer and partner facing applications and interfaces.
Responsibilities
  • Development, delivery, and maintenance of mobile applications across multiple devices – with a primary focus on Android solutions.
  • Improving code quality by staying on top of new technologies and development approaches.
  • Ensure the Android platform is safe and secure, in compliance with corporate risk and security standards.
  • Deep understanding of the Android SDK, including: activity and fragment lifecycles, sharing data between applications, supporting many device configurations and API levels, etc.
  • Understanding of tools and source code control (e.g. Android Studio and Git).
  • Supporting development mobile projects and devising solutions that are maintainable and scalable.
  • Able to understand production issues and resolving defects.
  • Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements and drive those from concept to implementation.
  • Communicate with delivery leads, designers, architects, project managers, QA, and other developers as part of a team.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the Android SDK as well as some other popular frameworks, Android or Java.
  • Experience developing and deploying mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with unit and functional testing.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking systems (e.g. JIRA)
  • Experience with Web development (e.g. AngularJS, NodeJS, HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, Spring) a plus
  • Experience with Financial Services is a plus.
 
 
Required Skills:
  • 2+ years Android development experience for applications that have been shipped.
  • 5+ years total development experience
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about mobile technology.
  • Experience with JSON services.
  • Experience working in a Scrum/agile development environment.
