Firmwide Risk Management is overseen and managed on an enterprise-wide basis. The Firm’s approach to risk management covers a broad spectrum of economic and other core risk areas, such as credit, market, liquidity, model, principal, country, operational, compliance, conduct, legal, capital and reputation risk, with controls and governance established for each area, as appropriate


Within the broader Risk Management organization the Risk Controller team works to improve the integrity and validity of Firmwide Risk data.  Overall the team is responsible for the following functions:

§  Aligning Firmwide Risk information with external disclosures to create an integrated view of Finance & Risk.

§  Producing SEC and External Regulatory Reporting in compliance with evolving guidelines.

§  Leading Risk through the annual Firmwide Resolution & Recovery planning processes.

§  Providing coordinated Business and Project Management support focused on strategic business objectives.

§  Designing and executing controls in support of Counterparty Credit, Wholesale Credit, and Market Risk CCAR Reporting.


Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Credit Risk Controller the ideal candidate will:

  • Be encouraged to think creatively, challenge status quo, and motivate team members toward strategic objectives.
  • Support the development of holistic risk governance and control structures supporting regulatory report production.
  • Execute the team agenda, identify opportunity areas and influence key stakeholders across the Risk Controller organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other relevant discipline
  • Ability to understand business drivers and requirements and influence partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems
  • Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex infrastructure, interrelationships and data flow
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and bring tasks to closure
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working with large amounts of data (Proficient with Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Existing relationships and networks within JPMorgan Chase community an advantage
