JP Morgan Chase Intelligent Solutions (JPMIS) transforms JPMC data assets to create and commercialize information and solutions that enable consumers, businesses and governments to make better decisions and achieve their objectives.
The Risk and Controls team provides an additional line of defense for JPMIS, to identify, understand end to end, and effectively manage our risks in our current environment as well as in new business initiatives.  Risk and Controls assists in immediate, real time critical control issues detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.  In addition, Risk and Controls partners with all other control functions – Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Legal.
The primary focus of the Technology Controls Associate is to ensure the business aligned management of technology risks in the Data Analytics domain, assessing risks and developing controls over data privacy, cyber security and business resiliency in the projects including applications and infrastructure that JPMIS develops, builds and operates
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide oversight on issues/potential issues that arise within projects, processes, and controls assessments, and identify, develop and maintain controls to mitigate identified issues
  • Ensure application development, cyber security, operational and engineering practices are in compliance with relevant risk standards, policies and regulations to maintain an effective control environment through monitoring and reporting on key risk metrics, and controls testing
  • Assist in the execution of the technology Risk and Controls Self Assessment (RCSA) process for JPMIS
  • Interface with various internal groups including Operations, Compliance, Risk Managers, Line of Business contacts, Internal/External audit including Regulatory and Legal as necessary
  • Experience in risk management including risk identification and assessment, control identification, control testing, and results reporting
  • Experience in working in a technology driven organization with exposure or experience in a technology role to operational roles and/or processes
  • Ability to inform and influence stakeholders through excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a program of work and actively drive stakeholder’s accountability to deliverables
  • Ability to develop business risk aligned solutions to address business risks through a problem solving mindset
  • Ability to process and analyze data using Excel, MS Access and other tools
  • Understanding or exposure to Cyber Security and Big Data Technologies and concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Risk and Cyber certifications such as CISSP, CISA are a plus
