Commercial Banking (CB) provides a full range of services including lending, treasury services, investment banking, commercial card and asset management products to meet its clients’ domestic and international financial needs. CB’s 1,500 bankers serve approximately 19,000 clients nationally, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit entities, with annual revenue generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion, and nearly 37,000 real estate clients, owners and investors. CB is the third largest commercial bank in the U.S., with almost $170 billion in loans and almost $180 billion in deposits. In 2015, CB generated revenue and earnings of $6.9 billion and $2.2 billion, respectively.
CB Strategy team, which functions as internal consulting group, is seeking talented candidates for an Analyst position. This highly visible position will be filled by a candidate with exceptional drive and energy, who has solid analytical and financial skills, strong verbal and written communications skills.
Projects managed by CB Strategy include developing growth strategies, assessing and addressing market needs and changes, addressing market changes and regulatory shifts and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness. This team also drives major internal and external presentations, including the company’s annual Investor Day and executive-level strategy discussions. Projects are team-based and include extensive collaboration with partners throughout the lines of business and functional areas.

Gather, synthesize, analyze and present project data and findings. Provide in-depth analyses and insight to identify issues and arrive at recommendations. Track metrics and use scorecards to measure effectiveness of strategy
Collaborate with CB’s Competitive Intelligence and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to provide insightful competitive intelligence to facilitate and prompt the leadership teams on business strategy
Monitor industry trends and share insightful reports/ analyses/ news articles with broader team and with senior executives. Identify implications and "so what's" of data and analysis with the team
Assist with creation of strategic presentations and concise communication materials for CB CEO and senior management team to articulate strategic direction, execution, performance tracking for internal and external audiences
Partner with strategy teams across JPMC on firmwide initiatives and strategic deep dives. Represent CB as needed on cross-LOB teams
2-4 years of relevant experience in consulting, banking, strategy development or other similar role
Demonstrated high level of performance, evidenced through annual reviews and recommendations
A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
Strong analytical capabilities coupled with the ability to identify issues, gather and manipulate data, obtain consensus and implement change
Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities. Must be self-directed with the ability to explore innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Must be proactive, high energy, detail and results-oriented, and willing to drive change
Understanding of business drivers and modeling principles, with ability to produce error-free, accurate analyses
Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to synthesize “the story” for executive-level audiences and adjust messages and style based on different audiences and agendas
Ability to collaborate with team members across business and staff areas at all levels, and achieve goals without direct control over all resources
