of key WLS functional areas.  This role collaborates with operations teams within WLS, as well as working closely Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides loan servicing functions to all four JPMorgan lines of business.  These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndication loan and trade processing, credit administration and collateral perfection and management.  This role resides within Integration Management and is responsible for the execution & governance of projects in support with LOB and functional partners to execute the project agenda.


One of the top priorities across the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) at JPMorgan Chase is to help the firm move toward a more integrated data management strategy.  Our businesses and corporate groups rely on data to facilitate and execute transactions, support our clients, identify potential risks, and meet regulatory requirements. The Wholesale Lending Data Steward wil act as guardian and decision maker for specific Wholesale Lending critical data elements and will also be accountable for executing on the 2017 agenda to drive adoption of the data elements back into the Loan Applications.  The Data Steward will have responsibility for performing gap analysis between data element definition and current operation processes, and will work with operations SME’s to document operating model and technology changes required to conform WLS data to new definitional requirements. 

 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Accountable for understanding metadata, usage, standards and quality for specific data.  This role requires interaction with finance, risk, lines of business and data governance/operations organizations. 
  • Engage with assigned areas within the business operations to develop knowledge and subject matter expertise of the business processes, systems of record and authoritative sources and their usage. 
  • Review and/or define specific data element business definition values in partnership with the business process owners and assigned Data Solution Architects to ensure proper business context and impact are understood.   
  • Review and/or capture metadata, review profiling results, document issues and establish data quality monitoring required to provide certification; submit new data elements, change requests to the Data Domain Working Group, as needed.
  • Review and /or document data quality issues, define root cause, and prioritize them in partnership with the Data Quality team to ensure that issues are resolved within agreed timeframes.  .
  • Perform analyses of data element definitions versus current operational process to identify and document gaps
  • Implement op model and/or technology changes to conform data to approved definitions; identify, quantify, and oversee data remediations as required to improve WLS data
  • Work closely with downstream and regulatory consumers of WLS data to progress data changes through impact analysis review and implementation

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years in the financial services market, preferably across loan operations and/or loan technology required
  • Strong knowledge of business operational processes, data and technology platforms
  • Strong execution/project management focus
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and interact with all staff levels
  • Proven ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
