Description
The business operations manager must be an expert in all aspects of credit bureau reporting in order to maintain regulatory compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The position will play a key role in the ongoing monitoring of regulatory / compliance initiatives related to credit bureaus. Work closely with consumer servicing operations, lending systems, operational risk, analytics, legal and compliance teams to design, administer, and maintain long-term solutions to ensure all regulatory requirements are met for credit bureau data reporting.  Serve as resource to senior management for best practices on credit bureau matters.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in credit bureau reporting of consumer loans, credit cards and consumer deposit accounts for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Metro 2® reporting standards.

  • Direct discovery and analysis of existing processes and key controls, and identify future internal control trends or new standards
     
  • Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and industry laws, regulations and guidelines

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant industry standards, best practices, business processes and technology used within related business areas

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively with Credit Reporting Agency senior leadership to review difficult business situations and ensure Chase’s business needs are represented and the Chase agenda is in the forefront of decision making.

  • Serve as the advocate for Credit Bureau matters with Compliance, Legal and Operations.

  • Responsible for driving insights relative to Credit Bureau matters by providing guidance towards deep dive analytics on all aspects of issues affecting credit bureaus

  • Work with both internal and external partners to develop best in class insights on Credit Bureau data quality, and regulatory influences.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

  • 7 to 10+ years' experience in financial services required with emphasis on credit reporting environment with demonstrated strong leadership experience supporting a highly complex business delivering results in a highly regulated environment

  • Advanced knowledge of credit reporting regulations and guidelines is required. Must possess and maintain a strong working knowledge of all state and federal regulations that impact all consumer lending, deposit products and credit reporting
     
  • Advanced Knowledge of FCRA reporting requirements and other applicable regulations

  • Expertise in Metro 2® reporting standards and furnishing to specialty consumer reporting agencies

  • Ability to independently and effectively work across all levels of management as well as and various internal information providers, functions, and geographies
 
  • Advanced thought leadership in providing vision and strategic thinking to decisions/issues
     
  • Experience in delivering results through influence & oversight
 
  • Extensive experience that demonstrates the ability to research, compile, and document data, business processes, and workflow
     
  • Expert analytical thinking skills to include summarizing information and clearly identifying key elements, patterns, results or relationships

  • Expert skill in the analysis of technical issues in order to recommend, develop and/or implement strategies and achieve objectives 

  • Advanced knowledge of process mapping/modeling and business process reengineering 

  • Advanced skill in project management to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
 
  • Excellent presentation preparation and delivery skills
