Job Description:
Duties: The team covers the application support of 20+ applications used within the Fixed Income front office in addition to associated development projects both locally and globally. Support of the front office technology platform globally including tactical enhancements, application upgrades, new application rollouts, maintenance, performance tuning and provide a depth of both business and technology service to the whole organization. Provide Fixed Income trading application support. Perform weekly production releases for bug fixes and enhancements. Application Support of the front office investment and trading platforms, including interfacing with portfolio managers and traders daily. Troubleshoot business issues, solving problems to provide solutions to diverse investment teams and the product aligned trading desks. Responsible for the operation, monitoring and integrity of the technology platform. Escalation support for the members of the team located in other regions including evenings and weekends on a rotational basis. Participate in the Incident and problem management processes, resolution, root cause analysis and technology and business reporting and communication. Responsible for the stability of the production environment within the change management process ensuring policies are enforced and adhered to. Interact with the investment teams, trading desks, operations teams, legal, audit, risk and compliance teams. Proactively identify improvements and address them through independent thinking within a consensus driven team.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field plus 2 years of experience in application support, or related experience OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field plus 5 years of experience in application support, or related experience.

Skills Required: Must have Business Application troubleshooting experience. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Oracle & Sybase Database concepts. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Unix operating systems. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating system. Must have demonstrated SQL knowledge on Oracle & Sybase. Must have demonstrated knowledge of trade lifecycle. Must have experience with Financial services. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Networks and Middleware technology (such as MQ messaging). Must have experience with the use of Scheduling software. Must have scripting experience. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
