The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas.  This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

As a paralegal you will assist attorneys in all facets of related practice. You will ensure proper routing and handling of issues and requests for information including dealing directly with business clients and legal counsel. You will produce ad-hoc projects to assist attorneys, which includes: summarizing documents, analysis of data, legal research and organization of records. This position requires someone who can handle a high volume of work and keep up with a fast paced position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist attorney with check requests
  • Review cases before it is closed and facilitate closing with the data quality team
  • Upload key pleadings, briefs and orders to the litigation matter management system
  • Monitor completion of fields that require attorney input
  • Prepare and review case checklists
  • Assist attorneys with data on Excel using vlook up, pivot tables and pie charts
  • Prepare power point slides for projects or assignments

  • 3 years to 5 years paralegal experience including preparing legal documents
  • College degree preferred, paralegal certificate a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PC skills (proficient knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Westlaw)
  • Ability to monitor own workload to meet their work goals
  • Analytical thinker who is an independent self-starter
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle several projects simultaneously
  • Experience in legal research, summarizing documents and analysis of data
  • Excellent Organization Skills
