Job Description:
Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) serves as the central provider of technology infrastructure to JPMorgan Chase. GTI has launched a major, intensive, multi-year effort to improve and enhance the support of application messaging and integration technologies on behalf of JPMC's Lines of Business (LOB's). In conformance with GTI's Plan-Build-Operate model for distributed systems, a cross-tower team (GTI Messaging) is being developed and empowered to support this effort.
 
The Global Strategy and Core Services team works on products and services that are new or in the process of maturing to meet our standards for "Managed Services". There will be a focus on providing a rigorous and transparent acceptance process to assess the adoption of new services followed by a comprehensive maturity model that will be applied to the portfolio of products and services under management.
 
Developer Services team provides a suite of products and services for Application Development across the firm. Our team is populated by bright, forward thinking developers - we're looking for someone smart and productive to join us.
 
Operating as part of the Developer Services group in Global Technology Infrastructure, the project is run following Agile practices, with a strong focus on quality and teamwork. Existing team members are located around the globe, working together as a cohesive group.
 
For this position, you will be responsible for designing, architecting and managing enterprise scale applications in the issue tracking using Atlassian JIRA. You will be resposible for implementation of new features and fixes to the product.
 
In addition you will be involved in helping the team develop performance testing, automating resiliency management for Nexus and Artifactory products. You will need a passion for technology and a commitment to continuous improvement.
 
This role requires experience of enterprise application development. You’ll work in partnership with a range of teams and end-users across the firm, including Operate, end users and other development teams. The ability to communicate succinctly in writing and verbally is essential. Attention to detail is critical in this position, both in development and support activities.
 
Day-to-day support will form part of your responsibilities, but no out of hours or on-call support is required with the Quarterly exception of production releases.
  • Technology Required Experience:
  • Solid understanding of OO development & design principles including: Interfaces (APIs), Abstractions, Encapsulation, Polymorphism
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, PERL, Shell Scripting (bash/csh)
  • Strong Experience in deploying & supporting products on enterprise platforms: Windows, Linux
  • Knowledge of automated testing & deployment
  • Knowledge of Sonar Source and Artifactory
 
  • Role Specific Experience & Technologies:
  • Proven experience with Java & Javascript
  • Hands on experience of enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP & REST) & Messaging (JMS)
  • Continuous Integration (Hudson/Jenkins) & Unit test experience with jUnit
  • Ability to drive architecture, design, best practices using the latest tools available
  • Distributed Team Working
