About Global Service Operations
Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) Service Operations (SO) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chase's Global Technology Infrastructure.  Through its Operations Centers GSO provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services, while its Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and execute industry-leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer outages and impacts.
Team Description
The GSO Infrastructure Development team is responsible for the automation of manual and repetitive activity on Unix, Windows, Mainframe and Large Midrange platforms. This is done using 2 core products, CA Process Automation Manager (ITPAM) and BMC Atrium. The team is also responsible for maintaining in house developed .Net applications used by GTI-SO Operational teams to effectively manage their day to day operations.
The group is organized into product aligned Agile development scrum teams, responsible for delivery of customer requests, product updates, strategic projects and new tool solutions.

Role Description

This open role is for an Automation Developer to join the existing team.
The successful candidate will be able to:
  • Have experience automating IT Operational tasks, using either a vendor supplied tool or in house written scripts / software.
  • Work independently and as part of an Agile team on high profile initiatives and stakeholder requests as required.
  • Provide technical input for some of the group’s strategic objectives.
  • Represent the group in firm wide Global Technology programs.
  • Continuously review the group’s service offering and work on improvement opportunities.
  • Implement complex and innovative technology solutions.
The day to day activities of the role will encompass the full project lifecycle, including:
  • Interacting with stakeholders to understand the requirements and perform thorough analysis.
  • Designing software architecture and producing scalable and resilient technical designs.
  • Digesting and understanding business requirements and designing new functionality that meets those requirements.
  • Installation and configuration of new software.
  • Development, unit testing and providing escalated support as and when required.
  • Production implementations and handover documentation.
  • Day-to-day management of workload and projects.
  • Partnering with global team members from within or other teams to achieve successful business delivery.
Technical - Essential
  • Experience as an Automation Developer automating complex technical processes (perl, python, SA skills).
  • Experience with API’s, SOAP & REST.
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2012 Preferred)
  • Windows & Unix Server support
  • PowerShell scripting.
  • Shell & Perl scripting.
  • JavaScript
  • XML / XSLT
  • Experience working on mission critical high performance systems
Technical - Desirable
  • CA Process Automation Manager
  • CA Service Catalog
  • BMC Atrium
  • Experience as an Application Developer (.NET, MVC preferred) in an Agile environment.
  • Mainframe JCL & REXX
  • Design patterns
  • Experience of the software development lifecycle in a structured environment
  • Experience with Agile
  • Experience of working within an ITIL framework
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bright and enthusiastic, self-starter, highly motivated, comfortable taking the initiative
  • Ability to manage dependencies, proactively anticipate and deal with issues
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst delivering results quickly and efficiently
  • Capable of working effectively within a distributed global development team
