Wealth Management Operations supports the J.P. Morgan Private Bank in J.P. Morgan’s Asset & Wealth Management line of business. The Private Bank is the world’s premier service provider for ultra-high net worth individuals. Our goal is to help these affluent individuals across the globe optimize their wealth after tax across generations. Wealth Management Operations provides end to end support for all aspects of the client experience, working with client service, fiduciary, product specialty groups, third party vendors and other internal groups
The Wealth Management Operations Tax Project Manager will be responsible for leading projects from initiation through implementation. The scope includes both business driven improvement projects and firm-initiated projects for Regulatory purposes. The Project Manager will be expected to develop relationships and partner with internal operations, Corporate Tax, the front office and technology teams and other LOB’s as necessary during the requirement, build and testing phases of the project as well as the support of the production implementation. In addition, the Project manager will need to communicate and track project statuses across multiple project.
The Tax Operations Associate is expected to have an understanding of the financial activity as it relates to tax withholding and reporting. A holistic understanding of the tax cost and reporting process as it relates to specific financial instruments. The Tax Operations Associate is expected to manage the team with tax projects that impact our accounting system including system enhancements, transition of accounts from other platforms, new securities, and new services.
Management of staff
Analyze transactional activity for consistency and accuracy; liaise with appropriate team(s) and/or individual(s) to facilitate the required adjustments
Assess the impact of industry, legislative, and/or other changes and develop and communicate required procedural changes resulting from the industry and legislative changes
Perform analysis on tax and security research
Review and analyze the integrity of data (client, security, and transactional)
Perform data and tax package analysis as well as year-end controls and verification
Create and distribute the 1099s, 1042S forms, and tax packages
Ability to identify areas of improvement and recommend efficiency enhancements
Cross train with other team members, other operational teams, as well as Client Service
Document and enhance procedures and training documentation
Document and enhance MIS relating to data analysis, inquiries, and maintain daily MIS
Project lead responsible for project’s overall success, ensuring delivery is on time, on scope and on budget
Ensure adherence to procedures, control policies, and service level agreements
Ensure project is completed in accordance with Risk, Compliance, Tax Regulation and other relevant firm-wide guidelines
Manage, communicate, and participate in multiple operational, technological, and business projects (scope, budget, business requirements, testing, implementation, procedures, etc.)
Liaise with business partners to assist in the development, enhancement, and implementation of best practices (other areas of Wealth Management, Investment Bank, and the firm)
Serve as a subject matter expert
Diagnose and facilitate resolution of key issues and risks within the project
Ensure operational and business change readiness
Conduct overall project evaluations/quality control
Support the team’s structure and goals

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Interest in the nuances of Tax Regulations and their impact on internal processes and client interactions
Licensed Series 99 or ability to obtain within 120 days

Three to five years of financial/operational experience
Demonstrate strong leadership skills
Ability to multi-task, plan, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment across multiple financial instruments
Ability to work as a strong team member
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent time management and strong organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills; comfortable with scheduling and facilitating discussions

Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
