Job Description:

As a member of our Infrastructure Development team, you’ll immediately put your love of technology into action. Each day, you and your team will be responsible for making sure our platforms, servers and networks are online and secure. You’ll work together, evaluating, selecting, implementing, integrating, maintaining, upgrading, documenting and designing our infrastructure. You’ll find new and creative solutions to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Communication is key, both in problem solving with your supervisors and collaborating with your coworkers, as well as other teams in the network.

 

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Ability to articulate and share clear, concise complex technical findings to management in understandable terms
  • Maintains proficiency in these key areas:
    • Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations)
    • Hardware Benchmarking (Agile, program managements, network management)
    • Design (compliance, security)
    • Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Proficiency in more than one specific infrastructure technology
  • Ability to execute with understanding of best practices and JPMC policies top of mind
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
 

The Core Foundation Services team (CFS) is responsible for providing end to end support for critical technologies that are used across the company. This includes Configuration and Orchestration, Identity Management, Name Services, Enterprise Monitoring Solutions, and automation tools used to manage these technologies.

This role will be located in the CFS team. More specifically this role will be in team that is responsible for managing the application that is the standard firm-wide tool for Application Deployment.

 
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and up keep of our core applications.
  • Capacity and resiliency planning.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind
  • Ongoing assessment of the existing environment with a relentless focus on continuous improvement.
  • Fielding escalations from the support organization and providing solutions in partnership with the vendors when necessary.
  • Participate in a 24x7 rotation for second-tier escalations

  • Prior experience designing, developing, and implementing software solutions, constantly seeking to be an expert. You take pride in self-mastery and knowledge development
  • Expert with the following technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JQuery, D3.js, Node.js, AJAX, JSON, Selenium
  • Good knowledge in Java technologies, GIT version control system
  • SDLC expert with strong focus on Unit Testing, Functional Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, Distributed Version Control System, Agile methodologies
  • Highly motivated and self-starting personality with a keen desire to be extensively creative (supports multiple mockups of UI visualizations in Agile Scrum model)
  • Communicate in clear, concise and consistent manner
  • Must have very good knowledge and understanding of the assigned information technology platform and make recommendations for improvements to the technology
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related quantitative discipline preferred
