The primary objectives of effective liquidity management are to ensure that the Firm is able to operate in support of its clients, meet contractual and contingent payment obligations through both normal economic cycles and severe stress events, and to ensure funding is sufficiently diversified while maintaining access to appropriate sources of liquidity.   The Firm manages liquidity and funding using a centralized, global approach in order to optimize liquidity sources and uses for the Firm as a whole, monitor exposures, identify constraints on the transfer of liquidity among legal entities within the Firm, and maintain the appropriate amount of surplus liquidity as part of the Firm’s overall balance sheet management strategy. 
The EMEA Liquidity Regulatory Management team is the regional hub of a global group focused on liquidity policy and regulatory management.  The team oversees liquidity policy and management in all EMEA countries where the Firm operates, with a reporting line up to both the Global Head of Liquidity Policy and Regulatory Matters in North America and the International Treasurer locally.  The team is responsible for ensuring compliance with any local regulatory requirements relating to liquidity as well managing the relationship with (and requests from) local regulators.  The team also represents the Firm in industry discussions on liquidity, and has frequent contact with senior management and line of businesses to analyze business trends and plan strategy.  Furthermore, the team ensures that liquidity management within EMEA legal entities is consistent with the global policy and strategy of the Firm.
The EMEA Liquidity Regulatory Management team primarily executes on two key areas (in close partnership with stakeholders within the line of businesses, Treasury, Risk, and Finance):
  • Liquidity Policy:  Interpretation and implementation of liquidity policy, oversight of liquidity regulatory returns, and Pillar III disclosures.
  • Liquidity Governance: Preparation, review and submission of regulatory deliverables related to Liquidity and Recovery/Resolution Planning, including ILAAPs, CFPs, and the Liquidity/Treasury components of the Firm’s Recovery and Resolution Plans.   This role is within the Liquidity Governance team.
Key responsibilities within Liquidity Governance include the following:
  • Analyzing and understanding the liquidity and funding risk profiles of the EMEA legal entities, in conjunction with financial, legal, regulatory, market and operational constraints
  • Planning and execution of the ILAAP (or equivalent documents) across all in-scope EMEA entities, working with multiple business lines and functions across the Firm to coordinate input into these documents
  • Providing input from a Liquidity and Treasury perspective into ICAAP, Recovery and Resolution Planning documents.
  • Coordination of regulatory engagement in relation to these documents, including coordination and review of information requests and follow-up actions
  • On request, input into / review of Firmwide (i.e. global JPMC) documents related to Liquidity, Recovery or Resolution Planning
  • Management of internal governance processes related to regulatory submissions, including approvals by Legal Entity Board of Directors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Financial services industry experience with a focus on liquidity management, balance sheet, business analysis, treasury experience, or related regulatory reporting / management experience
  • Ability to operate in an environment with a high level of scrutiny and be able to collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders across levels
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills and the ability to convey complex issues succinctly
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across various lines of business, legal entities and regions
  • Ability to excel under pressure, prioritize effectively across multiple tasks and bring tasks to closure
  • Attention to detail.
