Job Description
The MIT Project Manager will be responsible for managing new and existing merchant projects as requested by the Sales and Relationship Management Teams. Projects are to be delivered within specified timeframes, within budget and with the agreed upon solution/functionality. The project manager will do this through the creation and management of a comprehensive project schedule, the use of regularly scheduled team meetings and the use of departmental project artifacts such as project plans, issues lists, meeting minutes, status reports, etc.
Project Managers within the MIT Group are expected to manage varying project types including but not limited to:
  • New Merchant Accounts - POS implementation to Chase
  • Existing Merchant Accounts – New terminal/solution upgrades
  • RFP Process – Prepare sample Project Plans, Attend RFP presentations with Sales
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Utilizes Chase Paymentech project management best practices, artifacts and processes in the successful implementation Canadian Merchant Projects. The Project Manager ultimately is responsible for the delivery of assigned projects and initiatives, ensuring that the business goals and objectives are delivered on time and meet or beat the expected results of the business
  • Ensures project requirements are appropriately defined, documented and approved
  • Ensures that project and implementation plans are created and maintained for all projects and initiatives to appropriately manage and control project activities
  • Manages and coordinates cross functional teams across the Canadian and US businesses groups as needed in the delivery of the projects requirements
  • Interact and interface with customers and vendors as needed in the delivery of project objectives
  • Coordinates and conducts project meetings in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ensures that communication and updates are provided to the project teams, sponsors and executives in a timely and relevant manner through the use of monthly reporting and project artifacts.
  • Ensures formal project closure is executed at the completion of every project and that the transition of the account to the Relationship Manager is done so in a complete and thorough manner documenting any encountered/existing issues.
  • As a member of the Canadian Merchant Services Team, provides day to day support of the Canadian business as needed for operational issues and business priorities
  • Must be fully bilingual (French & English) required
  • Minimum 5 or more years of Project or Merchant Implementation Management experience required
  • Minimum 5 or more years experience in providing merchant customer service (HD and APS)  
  • Minimum 5 or more years experience with project management tools and software, business applications and workflow, required
  • Ability to manage issues and risks in an effective and proactive manner
  • Ability to communicate at an executive level
  • Skilled in problem solving and analytical reasoning
  • Strong multi tasking skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work well in a team oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create productive relationships across cross functional teams
  • Must have a proven track record in providing excellent service to Chase merchants.
  • Proficiency with desktop productivity applications including MS Word, Excel & MP
  • Ability to accurately mine and manage large data sets
Preferred Skills
  • PMP or other project management certification preferred
  • Experience in the financial or payment processing industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Chase Merchant Service POS products and services
  • Excellent knowledge of Chase Merchant Service supporting systems & networks
