The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.


Finance & Business Management’s goals are to ensure sound control environments and provide financial advice to support the business strategy. Within F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, both financial and regulatory, as well as ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.

Morgan Custody & Fund Services (C&FS) provides Institutional investors access to markets worldwide for the settlement, safekeeping and asset servicing of securities, along with ancillary services such as Foreign Exchange and Liquidity Solutions helps us service our core client segments: Asset Managers, Asset Owners, Insurance/GSEs, Banks/Broker Dealers and Hedge Funds.

The CFS Client Services team aims to deliver exceptional service and end to end solutions to our existing and prospective clients. As trusted advocates, Client Services owns all client matters, while maintaining strategic alignment and open communication with our business partners. Success is based upon client satisfaction by improving experiences, creating efficiencies and executing seamlessly.


CFS Finance & Business Management (F&BM) is looking for a Business Manager to support the global Client Service teams. Client Service has over 2,000 clients and approximately 500 employees globally. The Business Manager will work closely with head of Client Service and the management team. The role reports to the head of x-CFS Business Management, who is also based in New York, and the team works closely with the rest of the global business management team.


Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the management and tracking of the Client Service organization including HC monitoring, location strategy, Brexit resourcing
    • Provide monthly reporting and analytics to support business decisions
    • Oversee and manage Client Service P&L inclusive of CFS allocations, vendor management T&E expenditure, complete financial investigations and escalations where required
    • Coordinate globally the annual planning/budgeting process for Client Service
    • Assist the business in communicating the Client Service strategy, performance, and priorities (e.g. preparing materials for business updates, one off reviews, off-sites)
    • Optimize business performance by providing measurement and helping to drive key initiatives
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate business risks that could impair the ability to do business, in addition to working close with the controls office
    • Business continuity and resiliency planning
  • 6+ years’ work experience in financial services
  • Knowledge of Custody & Fund Services products is strongly preferred
  • Establishes rapport with senior executives
  • Communicates in a very clear and concise manner to all
  • Self-starter who is proactive in taking the initiative, improving the business and working under tight deadlines
  • Can interpret large data sets and identify trends
  • Can synthesize large volumes of data into key messages for senior management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skill
