The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

 

Prime Finance Description

The Firm’s Prime Finance business (the “business”) is part of the Corporate and Investment Bank’s Investor Services business.  The business offers flexible financing to clients in either physical form or through synthetic products and with its ability to borrow and lend securities (stock loan) also allows clients to create short exposure. A further role of the financing business is to provide the wider Equities and Investor Services businesses with both short term and long term secured funding. The products traded by the business include: stock borrow loan, repos, equity swaps, options and futures.

 

The Controller organization is responsible for the integrity (completeness and accuracy) of financial information for Prime Finance, and providing timely actionable information for Prime Finance Leadership to effectively manage the businesses liquidity position.

 

Job Description

This multifaceted role provides an opportunity for a motivated individual to be involved in several top priorities of Finance and Business Management.  The successful candidate will work on and manage a small team and gain an understanding of liquidity and become a valued partner to controller teams across Prime Finance, as well as the broader Finance function.  The position has significant visibility to the business, product controllers, treasury, central teams and senior management as well as the opportunity to learn in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be involved in validation and reporting of liquidity items such as Stress, GSIB, 5G, and LCR, to name a few.

 

The successful candidate will have strong accounting, project management, communication, and teamwork skills which will be critical to developing a partnership with Controllers across Investor Services & Financing.

 
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Point of contact for CIB Treasury and Firmwide Liquidity Analytics teams for Prime Finance liquidity including involvement in daily and monthly reporting externally, monthly regulatory submissions and be the ‘go-to’ person for the Prime Finance Business Heads
  • Weekly and monthly liquidity analysis for the Prime Finance business, as well as forecasting and planning of liquidity related items
  • Understand current US & International rules and their application to the Prime Finance LOB
  • Think strategically to improve procedures; drive process enhancement projects; partner with CIB Finance to review, test and implement process changes

Skills Required:
  • Accounting/finance experience highly preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Control/efficiency mindset and drive to challenge and change
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks and requests in a fast moving environment coupled with proven ability to prioritize and meet key deliverables
  • Effective team player and self-starter
  • Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
