Performance Development
As the firm continues to we innovate products and services to help our clients succeed, we are also innovating how we manage performance to help our employees excel. Last year, the firm announced a new approach to Performance Development that reinforces what great managers and teams already do – bring out the best in their people by aligning on Priorities, checking in often, providing real time feedback and coaching year-round. A group of early adopters transitioned to the new approach last year, and the rest of the firm is transitioning this year.
 
It’s a big change for most of the firm – both philosophically and operationally. As a result, the Performance Development Center of Excellence (CoE) has built an extensive change management strategy that focuses on upskilling employees, encouraging all to think and do things differently when it comes to Performance Development, and ensuring the operational elements of the new approach roll out smoothly and successfully. Throughout 2018 we’ll be implementing a range of stakeholder engagement, communication and learning activities, and we’ll continue our ongoing review/analysis of feedback and metrics.
 
Overview:
The Senior Project Manager is a key member of the Performance Development COE’s Project Management Office (PMO) workstream, which is responsible for creating and implementing a multi-year, cross-functional, end-to-end change strategy. As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for ‘steering the ship’ – ensuring program activities and processes are executed on time and within approved budgets, driving our global program governance, identifying and mitigating cross impacts and risks, supporting Year End readiness plans, helping to draw insights from metrics/feedback – and flexing as needed to support all of the moving parts. 
 
This role partners heavily with all members of our PMO team and broader stakeholders to ensure messaging, content, processes, technology enhancements and overall timing are integrated, consistent and powerful. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Develop and maintain complex overall project plan, consulting day-to-day with broader CoE team, leadership, HR and other key stakeholders to monitor and track progress, identify and solve problems.
  • Create and maintain an environment which establishes, communicates and ensures adherence to clear deadlines intended to ensure that work is processed with the required timeliness.
  • Foster relationships, promote teamwork and influence and motivate others.
  • Effectively communicate with others by listening actively, communicating effectively and clearly, relaying important information to others when needed; communicating in writing in a clear, concise manner; using appropriate methods to guide group meetings; fostering openness; sharing information all the time.
  • Able to quickly synthesize information, new ideas, process and/or policy changes, understand business impacts, and communicate as needed.
  • Consult with key partners across LOBs to assist in developing local strategies to support skill building and behavior change in ways that resonate with the unique needs of that LOB
  • Leverage business knowledge, Human Resources expertise, and personal commitment to excellence to deliver results that meet all standards of quality, compliance, timeliness and customer experience. 
  • Maintain a proper control environment whereby policies, procedures and processes are understood and consistently followed, appropriate documentation is accurate and easily available for audits as needed
Qualifications 
  • Minimum 7 years Project Management experience in HR, training and development and/or Communications
  • Preferably an HR/training and development professional with experience in a large, multi-region/global organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree and formal project management training and/or certification
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, complex activities, and competing deadlines in a matrix management structure
  • Demonstrated ability to lead ad-hoc teams and manage to outcomes by influencing without direct authority
  • Passionate and innovative thinker who has the ability to successfully manage through ambiguity and drive to results
  • Effectively recognizes important information and is able to escalate high-risk issues to others clearly and in a timely fashion.
  • Effective communicator with ability to communicate (both written and verbal) across all levels of the organization- including executive level presenting/reporting
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships across functions to influence change
  • Proven focus on deliverables, organized, and ability to manage multiple high priority deliverables
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, HR or related field a plus
  • Working knowledge of performance and talent management practices
Technical Skills
  • Well versed in measurement methodologies to assess effectiveness of design solutions
  • Superior PC skills with demonstrated excellence in Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Business Objects, data analytics and reporting tools preferred.
Analytical Skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations using both qualitative and quantitative factors
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment
  • Identify problems as opportunities and to manage well under pressure and are able to deal with ambiguity, with a bias toward simplicity and action
