Job Description:
There is an immediate opening for the Program Management Director position within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Business Engineering organization.  CCB Business Engineering consists of over 70 professionals who provide leadership and support for large, complex, typically technology-dependent change initiatives that cut across CCB business and functional areas.  The Business Engineering group applies an integrated team-based approach using skilled, experienced personnel representing a variety of program delivery disciplines and services.
This senior manager position, an individual contributor role, will focus upon leading / supporting very large and complex cross-CCB change initiatives and will report directly to Business Engineering’s Executive Director of Program Execution, Training, and Standards.  As a key senior member of Business Engineering’s leadership team this individual will have responsibilities to drive and influence significant change across CCB, including:
  • Leading multiple major cross-organizational / LOB or cross-Business Unit teams to deliver significant business results / deliverables through major change initiatives
  • Leading a single large, complex, and / or highly visible program or product team that has significant financial, reputational or regulatory risk, and requires deep and broad subject matter expertise
  • Establishing collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and provide coaching at all levels in an emerging Agile environment; Developing and maintaining a productive working relationship with business owners, product owners, project sponsors, vendors and key clients.
  • Assisting with developing business strategies across user personas to improve customer relationships; continually refine the process to maximize efficiency.
  • Assisting one or more major business units by acting as the thought leader for program- or product-related activities: turning strategic plans into initiatives, identifying execution / delivery approaches, defining resource needs, and navigating the resource-demand processes.
  • Supporting the triage and resolution of critical program issues.
  • Preparing and delivering effective verbal and written communications regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams.
  • Managing budgets for assigned initiatives, monitoring progress and adjusting resources and priorities accordingly.
  • Establishing, maintaining and managing strategic business and IT relationships.   
Typically 15+ years of related project management and client management experience including 10+ years direct or indirect people management experience, preferably leading or working with senior project delivery personnel. 
  • Experience leading/participating in large scale organizational Agile transformation efforts including cultural and process change management
  • A demonstrated bias for action, creative problem-solving, and achieving fulfillment by "creating order out of chaos"
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate / partner with others to achieve goals at various levels throughout the organization and lead others to do so by example
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills; demonstrated ability to inspire and develop high performing employees as well as lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to influence change and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills, highly collaborative - can build rapport and credibility and have the ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • Must have ability to be flexible and shift to the role or tasks needed for each situational transformation; Ability to “get the job done” regardless of role definition
  • Must be able to quickly gain a high level understanding of the technical and business domains of the product / initiative teams
  • Must be able to garner respect from team and stakeholders and be willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done
  • Experience working on technology integration projects strongly desired
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives strongly desired
  • Project Management / Agile certification and/or Master’s degree in Business or related field desired.
