Corporate Actions Overview
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Actions team is responsible for retrieving, interpreting, and monitoring all corporate actions events on securities held by institutional accounts and JPM funds that are announced in the market. As a COAC analyst, you will work with information that is relatable to the market and current events in the financial industry; these events would include activities such as tender offers, mergers, and spin-offs. Our team validates all events, communicates terms to various teams, relays instructions to custodians, and processes to reflect in accounts. You will also gain exposure by working with the front and middle office, as well as other operations teams.
  • Interact with portfolio managers and traders on a regular basis to relay their decisions in the market
  • Perform both voluntary and mandatory corporate action related events
  • Work with a wide array of custodian banks to ensure our portfolios are kept up to date
  • Reflect event data on our JPMAM accounting system in an accurate and timely fashion so that the portfolio managers can effectively manage the assets on behalf of our clients
  • Oversee the class actions filing process
  • Ensure accurate account setups for proxy voting
  • Monitor voting result
  • Research and investigate as needed
  • Track corporate events from initial capture until events are allocated
  • Provide information to all parties impacted before deadline

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or equivalent work experience
  • Prior Corporate Actions experience is a plus
  • 0-3 years prior industry experience
  • Ability to work in deadline oriented and controlled environment
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing business and technology needs
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work in a team
  • Knowledge of financial instruments
  • Desire to learn new instruments and financial techniques
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

  • Prior experience with Sungard’s XSP is a plus
