Derivative Operations provides operational support across the CIB covering eight key product areas including FX, OTC Derivatives, Collateral Principal, 3rd Party Derivatives, Cleared Derivatives, Agency Collateral, Billing and CASS with ~1,900 employees.  Services provided to our Businesses include:
  • Transaction Processing, Confirmation, Settlement and Clearing, Collateral Management, Client Service, Invoicing and CASS Support
  • Typical daily activity includes settling in excess of $217B via FX trading, leading a Markets OTC portfolio of 2.5M trades, servicing >200 3rd party clients, performing 10,000 margin calls, processing 470k cleared and intermediated trades and producing >9,000 invoices
Third Party Derivatives support four main OTC derivatives services:
  • NAV Support – instruction capture and processing client provided valuations / cash flows; reconcile to the fund manager
  • Independent Valuations – instruction capture, generate in-house/ source TPV valuations and cash flows; reconcile to the fund manager/ counterparties; standard reporting
  • Middle Office – same service as Independent Valuations plus confirmation/ settlement management
  • Asset Verification – As a utility to T&F, produce Independent Asset Verification of OTC/FFX & CFD trades

Job Description
The purpose of the 3rd Party Derivatives Processing Center is to provide support for Over the Counter (OTC) transactions traded by institutional clients, asset managers, hedge funds and insurance companies who have outsourced part or all of their operations to J.P. Morgan.
The Trade Capture Team in Bournemouth have responsibility for the accurate and timely capture of all lifecycle events relating to OTC Derivative trades into Derivative and accounting systems.
Key components of the product/ services are:
  • Valuation - take-on of the client transaction and daily valuation across all derivative asset classes
  • Accounting Services - on the basis of the valuation, trade and cash
  • Trade Capture & Lifecycle Management - trade maintenance, trade support
  • Settlements and Confirmations - Confirmations and Settlements matching & payment instruction
  • Reconciliation Services - around position, valuation, cash and confirmation processes
  • Contracts for Difference (CFD) Administration - End to end management of a client's CFD trading activity
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Input and maintenance of all OTC Derivative trades & CFD related activities.
  • Investigation and resolution of Client, Fund Accounting, IOS and other 3PD team queries in a timely manner.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with control and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in the implementation of strategic initiatives, identifying process improvements and efficiency opportunities in daily workflow
  • Management of key relationship with stakeholders, building and sustaining, strong working relationships with internal lines of business within 3PD and the external client base.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree preferred  degree preference is Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Self-motivated and flexible approach to working hours and demonstrate high levels of accuracy / attention to detail.
  • Excellent prioritization, planning, organization and time management skills with ability to adapt to opportunities presented through change
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both internal /external.
  • Previous Investment banking experience with strong background in Derivatives or client facing experience.
