Customized Municipal Portfolios:
J.P. Morgan seeks a Municipal Securities Credit Analyst to join the Customized Municipal Bond Portfolio (C-MAP) team.  The Customized Municipal Portfolio team within the Managed Solutions & Strategies group manages over $9.0 Billion in separate accounts.  The team builds defensive and customized portfolios with staggered maturities and seeks to implement a conservative philosophy of capital preservation and predictable income streams. The group is led by a Senior Portfolio Manager with extensive experience managing individual customized portfolios supported by a team that provides institutional trading capabilities, portfolio management and fundamental credit analysis.  The Municipal Credit Analyst would join the Customized Municipal Portfolio team and focus on providing fundamental credit analysis, recommendations and oversight.
 
 
The Credit Analyst will:
  • Analyze investment grade municipal credits through in-depth fundamental credit analysis
  • Determine the appropriateness of new investment opportunities
  • Review of existing holdings noting trends and material changes on a timely basis
  • Interpret market and policy developments and their impact on existing and potential holdings
  • Share knowledge, both verbally and written (internal use only), regarding ongoing sector or credit developments
  • Respond to portfolio manager requests
  • Work closely with all members of the fixed income team
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelors' degree and an MBA or MPA would be a plus
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in municipal credit analytics – Generalist with exposure to both general obligation and various revenue sectors including some knowledge of healthcare
  • The candidate must have the ability to work with the full spectrum of clients from the high net worth sophisticated investor to the small retail client
  • This specialist must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral and be able to communicate his/her thoughts to clients and management 
  • Applicable ratings agency background is helpful
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive 
  •  Ability to manage multiple priority tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  •  Knowledge of investment systems such as Bloomberg and Perform would be helpful
