CIB – Public Finance Banking – Analyst – Seattle/San Francisco 

Public Finance is responsible for the Firm's relationship with Public Sector clients. Our bankers create solutions for the complex financing needs of state and local governments, non-profit institutions and certain corporations that issue debt in the tax-exempt and taxable capital markets. Client teams are based regionally and by industry sectors (Infrastructure, Healthcare, Higher Education/Non-Profit, Energy and Environmental, etc.). Public Finance provides exposure to all aspects of the capital markets by working closely with the sales, trading, and underwriting desks for prospective and live transactions. Public Finance is looking for candidates who want a career that aligns an interest in public policy with investment banking.

As an Analyst, you will get hands-on learning opportunities, mentoring and feedback while you build a strong foundation of investment banking skills. Public Finance offers its clients one of the broadest banking platforms in the industry, combining banking, underwriting, sales, trading, and credit origination. Analysts work with client coverage teams and must make an impact right from the start. You will work on a variety of transactions and interact with clients.

-This position is for a first or second year Analyst located in J.P. Morgan’s Seattle or San Francisco office to work with a banking team. Issuers include various governmental entities and non-for-profit organizations.
-Coursework in economics, public policy and/or finance is preferred. Work experience in investment banking, financial services and/or public policy is desirable.
-Candidates must demonstrate academic strength, teamwork, written and oral communication skills, and a high energy level.
-You must work well under pressure and tight deadlines, and be able to synthesize large amounts of information to develop creative solutions.
-You must be adaptable, able to manage several projects simultaneously and assume a high level of responsibility.
