Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer of JPMorgan Asset Management’s Global Alternatives business is an Executive Director Role within the Finance organization of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

  

The Global Alternatives CFO is responsible for partnering with the business on strategic direction and decision making as well as delivering value added financial reporting/planning/forecasting and analysis.  The key objectives for this role and team in 2018 are to deepen its analysis for the business, drive the business from a profitability perspective, and enhance controls and efficiencies.

 

The role consists of ownership and leadership of the execution of various projects listed below.  This person will get a broad exposure to the business drivers of JP Morgan Asset Management.  They will also be expected to interact not just with the various finance functions (Management, P&A, Profitability, Revenue, Expense, etc.), but also with the members of the Real Estate, Infrastructure, Maritime, Absolute Return and JPS business management and senior management teams.

 

Key functions of the role include:

  • Prepare and present Financial reports and analysis to Alternatives Investments Managing Partners for Asset Management and Investment Management Operating Committee meetings
  • Provide advice and recommendations to Alternatives senior leadership on finance and business related matters
  • Lead all forecast and annual budget preparation process with partners from the investment businesses including active reviews with business managers to ensure accuracy and variance explanations
  • Present Alternatives Financials at several operating committees, town halls and other speaking engagements
  • Provide hands on guidance and management to Alternatives CFO team including reporting, analysis, recommendations and presentations
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on M&A activities and other special initiatives
  • Active member of new business initiative committees relating to the expansion of our Alternatives businesses
Skills Required:
  • Strong financial management skills including analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to innovate, multitask and present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong team management skills and ability to lead cross-functions teams across an organization
  • Knowledge of investment management businesses, knowledge of Alternative Investments a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentations to large groups of people
  • Minimum of 10 years of finance work experience (preferred)
  • Undergraduate degree is required (finance major preferred) MBA a plus
